I’m an undergraduate student at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. I am currently pursuing a Biochemistry major with a minor in Pharmacology in CBS. In my spare time, I like to read and travel. I also enjoy hanging out with friends and going out to eat.

Alan is a Lebanese Croat medical student at the University of Zagreb, Croatia. Some of his projects include Hepatitis E epidemiology in Croatia and liver cancer risk factors in South America. He is particularly interested in gastroenterology and infectious disease. When not studying, Alan enjoys biking, hiking, history and travelling.

Lindsey received her Bachelor’s from the University of Minnesota in 2012. After a few years working in industry, she began working for the College of Pharmacy in 2016 as a lab manager and technician studying HIV. In 2020 she also joined the Debes lab as a lab manager. She received her MS from the University of Minnesota in August 2021. When not working in either lab, Lindsey likes to go on adventures with her husband and dog.

Qian is from China and graduated from medical school of Zhengzhou University in 2006. He later got his PhD degree in Sun Yats-Sen University, later doing a postdoctoral fellowship on stem cells at The Wake Forest Institute of Regenerative Medicine. Currently he is working on biomarkers in blood which could help detecting liver cancer at early stage among the patients who have hepatitis. In his free time, he enjoys having fun with his family to go hiking and travelling.

Manaswita is a resident physician at the University of Minnesota with an interest in Gastroenterology and Hepatology, global medicine, and education. Her current projects focus on viral hepatitis and hepatocellular carcinoma. In her free time, Manaswita can be found trying out new recipes, and catching up with her friends and their pets. 

Marina is originally from Beirut, Lebanon and graduated in 2021 from the American University of Beirut with a B.S (distinction) in Biology. She is currently pursuing a career in medicine at the University of Balamand, Lebanon. Her projects include liver cancer epidemiology in South America and Hepatitis B risk factors in Ethiopia. She really enjoys reading scientific papers and comparing the science between them. When not studying, Marina likes to go on road trips, play tennis and spend time with friends.
